Essential oils are becoming a common item in many households and for good reason. They offer a number of benefits that can improve your overall health in so many ways.
They can help you sleep better, stay focused and increase energy levels. Use essential oils to relieve stress and anxiety or to help heal minor cuts, scrapes and burns.
In addition to the health benefits, using an essential oil diffuser can improve the air quality in your home by cleaning and sanitizing the air. Essential oils can be added to your laundry detergent, make your own dryer sheets or use them in your homemade skin care products.

1. Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is well-known for its ability to help treat a wide variety of skin conditions such as acne, eczema, fungus and athlete’s foot. Blend it with lavender to make an antiseptic to help minor cuts, scrapes, burns and insect bites heal faster.
Tea tree is an excellent choice for kids because it cleans and sanitizes without burning and it promotes faster healing.
2. Lemon Essential Oil
Lemon oil can be used in so many ways. Add it to your laundry detergent to give your clothes a fresh clean scent or use as an air freshener. Mix it with water and use it to clean counters, tables, toys, floors and anything else in your home. It’s safe to use and it smells great.
3. Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Eucalyptus oil cleans and sanitizes the air, making it an excellent choice to use in your diffuser during cold and flu season. It helps to clear a stuffy nose and eliminate chest congestion. The disinfectant properties in eucalyptus make it an excellent oil to use in homemade cleaners.
4. Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender is one of the most popular essential oils used today and it’s often mixed with other oils because it blends well. It’s best known for its sedative and relaxing properties that promote a good night sleep but it also has many other uses.
You can use it as a disinfectant to help heal minor abrasions while promoting calmness. Use it to help heal various skin rashes, clear acne or as an air freshener to help create a relaxing environment.

The healing properties in clove oil have the ability to fight gum disease, help ease toothache pain and alleviate pain associated with canker sores and cold sores. Use it to help heal athlete’s foot, rashes, fungal infections, earaches and so much more. You can even use it to repel moths or mix it with baking soda to remove fleas from carpets.
6. Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint oil is excellent for easing stomach cramps and nausea. Just mix a drop or two with carrier oil and rub it on your stomach. Used in a diffuser it will clean the air and clear up nasal and chest congestion.
When combined with eucalyptus and pine oil, it helps ease bronchitis symptoms. It’s also great for eliminating stinky odors found in wastebaskets, closets and shoes, and sometimes your teenager.
