Modest Monday…..What I wore :)

Wear Jeans Modestly
Today you get 2 different outfits. The first I wanted to show how you can wear jeans modestly. One of the issues with jeans is them creeping down when you bend over and showing your hips too much. So here is what I wore the other day when we went to the movies.
Wearing a tunic, or what you see as a really short dress sometimes, works really well with jeans! You don’t have to worry about bending over and it is cute!
When I go to the movies I always take a sweater or something because I get cold :).
I am wearing…
Hat: Fred Myers clearance last year
White shirt: Half tee, if you have not tried half tees for layering your missing out! I LOVE mine!
Tunic/Dress: Target clearance it was on sale for half off and then I had an additional $3 off coupon 🙂
Sweater: Target clearance
Jeans: Miss Me Jeans bought at out exchange store the ONE time I have seen them there. They were MUCH less than normal retail price
Shoes: Ross Dress for Less ( I am wearing them with the beige skirt from a week or so ago)
This is a dark picture…better ones will come in a bit 🙂 Keep praying I get a fancy camera for Christmas! 🙂
Church today was wonderful. We had a great Sunday School lesson and then it was followed by a wonderful church service. After that we had our once a month potluck…YUM! Great food! Our service today though was on weeding. Yep, weeding can really show you a lot. When we weed we want to pull out the roots so that it takes longer for the weeds to grow back. This is the same with our sins. His reference mostly was the story of the tower of Babel. Look at how the people acted there, they had a lot of sin issues that needed weeding. They were not putting Christ first, they were serving themselves. We as Christians, if we want to reach others we have to pull out the roots and serve selflessly. The Burger King Motto is “Have it Your Way”. This motto while working great for a fast food place, just won’t work with Biblical principles. The easiest way to be distracted from the will of God, is to determine your own will, and invest in it. The Babel builders did this. They invested in their won will, they have a self-directed life instead of a God directed life, this just doesn’t work! Psalms 143 :10 says Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. So many times we read in Gods word about his will. When he was teaching us how to pray during the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6…he says My Kingdom Come, YOUR will be done. In being self-centered and self-serving, Satan wants to tell us that we are more than we are, and that God is less than he is. As Christians we should, Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16. Only Christ alone can save us and teach us how to live.
Here is what I wore to church….not a ton of pics. My oldest was my photographer and he was to focused on other things! HA!
We moved locations…so the dark ones are from a shady spot….
So what am I wearing?
Hat: Seen above when I went to the movies bought at Fred Myer last year
Sweater: It was chilly this morning! Same as above from movie night. Target Clearance
Red Tank: Old Navy, this is an old tank from a year or so ago
Red Button Down: Burlington Coat Factory on clearance
Skirt: Burlington Coat Factory 9 bucks! 🙂
Shoes: You cannot see them well! Sorry about that! They are red Hawaiian print though. I got them at Burlington Coat Factory too on clearance as well.
Necklace: It is with proud Mommy Feelings I post this one. The Necklace was free because my oldest son made it for me for Christmas:):):). It matched my outfit perfectly! If you all want to see a close up I can snap another of just the necklace. He was thrilled to see me wearing it again today.
So there you have it! 2 modest outfits! What did you all wear to church? What was your sermon about? I hope you all have a blessed week in the Lord!
In CHRIST,
Laura
