My family loves this recipe and has for many years! It was a dish I learned to make from my mom. Of course I have to put my stamp on it because I’m just not a rigid step-by-step recipe follower.
Besides, I had to add a twist to make it completely my own, right? Well, my little twist worked as my family asks for it every holiday or get together.

I must warn you. This stuffing includes sausage. If you’ve never had stuffing with sausage, you’re probably thinking, “What? Why?,” but you also don’t know what you’re missing.
I have made this recipe leaving out the sausage. Believe me when I tell you that the sausage makes the recipe. I have also made it and left out the apples and cranberries. Please don’t make that same mistake.
I would love to go into a culinary detail and tell you the sweetness of this ingredient counteracts the acidic property of that ingredient. But the ingredients just go together. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this dish as much as my family and I do.
Now, before I continue, you may feel the urge to tweak this recipe same as I did to put your stamp on it and make it your own. Outside of spice preferences, I really think you’ll enjoy this recipe just the way it is. I hope you enjoy making this recipe just as much as I have over the years.
