The Best Air Fryer Iced Dog Cookies
We’ve always treated our dogs like their part of our family – and that’s because they are. In fact, one of the biggest reasons we moved to homestead life is because we wanted to grow our own garden to supply our own food while also tending to our homesteading animals.
Our biggest love of being out in the country is that we can spend time doing what we want to do love and that’s a remarkable thing.
When I can cook and can food for the family, I’ve found that it makes me happy to provide. And now that I’ve realized how simple it is to do this for the dogs, too, I can’t wait to see how much money I’m going to be saving over the next year! As a bonus, I know exactly what is in the treats rather than googling and guessing the ingredients on a bag.
If you’re looking for a simple way to make your own homemade dog treats, I can’t wait to hear what you think about this recipe. It’s fast, it’s simple, and the dogs are going to love it!

How to Make Dog Treats in the Air Fryer
Alrighty, in a large bowl, you will combine peanut butter, pumpkin puree, yogurt, and eggs. Then whisk until smooth. If the peanut butter is sticky and hard, place it in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds till it is soft and fluid.
Now add the whole wheat flour, cinnamon, and baking soda and mix well with a wooden spoon till it comes together into a sticky dough. Then knead it until it becomes stiff dough like a sugar cookie dough. Next, add some more whole wheat flour if it is too sticky. Shape it into a round disk.
Then roll it out into a large ¼ inch thick circle. Using a well-floured cookie cutter, cut out as many shapes as you can.
Take and gather up the scraps and knead them again into a round disk. Roll it out and cut as many shapes as you can. Keep repeating the process until all the dough is used up. We used a 2.5-inches bone-shaped cookie cutter and got 4 dozen cookies.
Once that is done, place the cutout cookies in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
You will air fry at 330F for 8 minutes. Let it rest in the basket for 5 minutes before removing them.
Continue to repeat with the remaining cookies.
Let the cookies cool completely on a cooling rack before icing them.
For the Glaze
Take and combine the peanut butter and the coconut oil in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds or until the coconut oil melts. Whisk well until combined.
Then dunk the top of the cooled cookies in the peanut butter glaze. Place it on a cooling rack set over a baking tray to catch any drip.
Now refrigerate cookies for 10 to 15 minutes for the glaze to harden.
How do you store the cookies once cooked?
Store the cookies in an airtight container for the refrigerator for 10 to 15 days. This is going to keep them fresh and delicious for the pup!
