Traveling and Wearing Skirts At The Beach

As many of you have been following my blog and my Facebook posts, you are aware that we just completed a 10 state cross-country trip. You can read HERE and HERE for the other posts I have done for Modest Monday on traveling.

I wanted to reflect back on some of the moments along our trip that stood out. One of these moments was our time at the beach. I love the beach. When I go to there I am reminded of marvel of God’s beautiful creation!

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. Genesis 1:9

I love to take walks along the beach with my husband. While we were at Camp Pendleton, CA, we walked quite a ways while the kids dug in the sand with my mom :). Listening to the waves ebb and flow is soothing and relaxing.

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. Psalm 8:8

My youngest son, whom I refer to as Nemo on the blog, loves fish. When we were watching the waves, he couldn’t stop talking about fish. He is always on the lookout for “fishes” and wants us to look, too. My middle son, whom I refer to as “Turtle” on the blog, loves turtles. He was looking and searching for sea turtles during our beach adventure. My oldest son, whom I refer to as “Bookworm” on the blog, loved catching the waves! We all enjoyed our fun in the sun, splashing each other, watching the waves, and swimming in the ocean during our time at the beach. We marveled at God’s beautiful design.

Another scripture that I think of when I go to the beach is:

I love reflecting on these scriptures as I walk, pray and seek the Lord while at the beach. Thinking about how magnificent He is to create such beauty that we can enjoy here on this earth. I reflect on the fish and ocean animals that the Lord also created, swimming through the waters and obeying God’s specific design. I love listening to the waves crashing in and thinking about all of God’s creation obeying Him….and that motivates me! If the wind and the seas obey the Lord, that means I should be constantly seeking His will and guidance in all things.

This is the outfit I wore to the beach (I changed into a swimsuit later). We did a little shopping, ate lunch and then decided to visit Del Mar Beach.
