Easy Air Fryer Pupcakes

Easy Air Fryer Pupcakes

I’ll be the first person to admit that we 100%, without a doubt, spoil our dogs. And I’ll also be the first person to admit that we love each of them like members of our family. 

Our love for animals is one of the biggest reasons that we chose to start the homestead life – and it’s been one of the best decisions that we’ve ever made. 

And since I’m always creating fun, new recipes to feed the family, I also have to find new ways to spoil the dogs. 

From the first time I made these cupcakes, my pups knew that even though they weren’t supposed to eat “people” food, that this recipe looked too tasty to leave a single crumb! Each time I have made these, they knew these treats were mamma approved and wouldn’t leave my side until they were able to gobble them up! 

If you’re ready to make dog-approved treats, I really think you will like this fun and easy recipe. They’ll love that peanut butter frosting and flavor! 

Ingredients needed to make Easy Air Fryer Pupcakes

You’ll need ingredients for both frosting and the cupcakes, so make certain that you have everything on hand before getting started. 

Ingredients for frosting and cupcakes:

• peanut butter for the frosting
• 1 Cup of Oat Flour or Whole Wheat Flour 
• 2 eggs
• creamy peanut butter (about 1 cup) 
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil
• 2/3 cup of yogurt, plain

How to make Easy Air Fryer Pupcakes

Start by adding the yogurt, eggs, peanut butter, and oil into a bowl and mixing them all. You can mix by hand.

Add the flour and mix. 

Use silicone cupcake holders and put them on the air fryer tray. Divide the mixture evenly between all the cupcake holders. 

Make certain that you give them space so that they aren’t touching. Put the tray into your air fryer and bake for 13 minutes at 325 degrees F. 

Once done, remove and let cool. 

To frost, just spread a layer of the peanut butter over the top of each one of the cupcakes. Make a small slit in the top of the cupcake and then chop a dog bone in half and put it on top. 

Keep in mind that these cupcakes aren’t going to be light and airy. They’ll have a texture more like banana bread, which the dogs are going to love! 

Are these cupcakes edible for humans?

I’d recommend taking off the dog bone, but yep – there’s nothing in these cupcakes that should bother humans at all. You and the dog can sit around eating cupcakes together if that’s what you want to do! 

Is it a good idea to give dogs homemade treats? 

To be honest, I actually prefer to give our dogs treats that I make. This is the only way I’m 100% sure of all the ingredients that are in them. It makes me feel better knowing that I’m doing everything that I can to spoil them while also keeping them safe.

Dogs can have a very delicate tummy and there are actually a lot of food items that they really shouldn’t have. Most people think that only chocolate is bad for dogs, but so are peas, onions, grapes, raisins, and more! 

How long are these cupcakes good for?

They’re going to dry out after a few days, but I really doubt that your dog will mind. I recommend storing them in an airtight container and keeping them in the fridge. 

And if you’re worried that the kids might eat them – just put a note that these treats are for the pups! You can then spoil the kids and make them up some of their own treats like this Dessert Mini Cheeseburgers recipe! 

When should you give dogs treats? 

This is the debate, right? If you’re wanting to give your dog a treat, do you do so “just because” or do you do so after they’ve learned a new trick or done something to “earn” that treat?

It’s really up to you and what you want to do here. Sometimes, we work with our dogs and have them do tricks or work on learning how to shake, sit, lay, etc. Other times, we just spoil them because we want to. 

We’re blessed to have genuinely good dogs. We give these treats to our dogs to obey commands, but we also give them treats just because.

I think treats can be a great way to motivate a dog to learn new tricks so if there is something that you’re wanting to try and teach your dog, use these cupcakes to make that happen!
